My Art

Mon Oct 27, 2008, 6:52 AM
Sorry, i dont use this website to update with new work now, havnt for around two years, its why i dont tend to reply to favourites (sorry)!
I just use it to message people i only know through deviant art
i have a proper website at [link]
If you want to see what i have been doing over the last two years go here
[link]
Maybe in the future i will start using deviant art to upload new stuff, but at the moment i like to use it to show people what i used to do!
anyway if you can be bothered to leave comments about my new stuff, i have a blog to which you can navigate to through the contacts tab on my website!
anyway, cheers for all the favorites and appreciation, im sure you can understand that trying to make a living as an illustrator is difficult and time consuming hence why i am so bad at replying!

I actually studied games design at Norwich school of art and design which turned out to be not a particularly good course struggling a bit now to find work I kinda wish I had done illustration
:iconricardoplease:
have you just tried to phone/mail book publishers and show them your stuff??
maybe look at entering competitions? mcmillan books do a competition every year ( i think) for writing and drawing out children's books, your stuff looks like it could fit into the young age category and older age stuff aswell.

Hey, I loved all of your pictures!! I also noticed that you are a huge Sword of Truth fan. I am working on a project that involves rebinding all of the series into a high quality custom leather binder. I also want to include some custom artwork within the pages. Including some specific plot related scenes that seem to be unavailable anywhere within any art community.

I wanted the beauty of the presentation of the book to accurately display the beauty i found within its pages.

Custom binding and fancy guilding are easy to find, unfortunately i have what all of your art teachers would call "stupid fingers". I do not have the ability to draw even stick figures of wonderful scenes like Richard using the night stone to light the walls of the art cave so he can redraw the spell cast on him. :( My only options are to let my dream go unfulfilled, or to scour every avenue i can to find fans of the series who are willing to chip in a drawing or two in exchange for a mention on the acknowledgments page i am going to add at the end.

If you are interested let me know. I'd love to chat with you about the series in general and your other art.

Oh by the way, I'm Tom. :-p

Hey thanks for your comments about my work. I do love the sword of truth series (although after temple of the winds not so apart from faith of the fallen which was outstanding) and would be interested in doing some work for them! the problem is that im in my final year of uni at the moment so dont know how much time i would have to work on images! you would probably have to be a bit more explicit about what you were working on and what it was for.....but as i said it does sound interesting so keep me posted!

Thanks for your response! Currently I'm trying to round up drawings from the first book. On my profile page i have an updated list of the scenes i still need. If you need more indepth description, i could send you some blocks of text. Pick anyone that your heart leads you to. Don't worry about the time. whenever it fits your schedule, im just hoping a project like this would be more fun than work anyways.
Thanks again.

Tom

Finally got round to checking out your gallery (told you I would!) Have seen a lot of it already, and its even more impressive in real life, but still, a great gallery. Makes me wanna try drawing properly, rather than always doing abstract stuff. Keep it up, and see you soon :)
